In 1996, we introduced the industry’s first single-chip personal computer-to-television encoder. Today we are a leading provider of TV-Out semiconductor solutions for personal computing platforms, and offer products which support multiple television standards, including high definition television. To date, we have shipped over [22.3] million TV-Out products. We also offer high-speed computer interfaces for the flat panel markets which conform to the low voltage differential signaling, or LVDS, and digital video interface, or DVI, interface standards. We have recently introduced products combining our TV-Out technology with LVDS or DVI interfaces on a single chip, which we believe differentiates our solutions from those of our competitors. We believe that we currently offer the broadest range of discrete and combination visual interface semiconductor products incorporating LVDS, DVI and TV-Out. Chrontel is a privately-held company with about 100 employees at its Silicon Valley headquarters in San Jose, California and a field application and business office in Taiwan. Chrontel offers its products through a worldwide network of distributors and manufacturers' sales representatives.
Our objective is to be the leading supplier of high-quality visual interface semiconductor and software solutions for a broad range of computing and entertainment platforms. To achieve this objective, we intend to:
PC to TV Encoders - The CH700X product family was designed to interface to VGA controllers and converts non-interlaced VGA output to a standard interlaced TV signal. The specifications and features implemented in this family were derived from months of partnership with major VGA suppliers. Our latest offering, the CH7009 integrates TV encoder and a single-link Digital Video Interface (DVI) with the following features:
DVI Transmitters - The CH7009 product family was designed to interface to display controller device that accepts a digital graphics input signal, and encodes and transmits data through a DVI Transmitter or TV Output. LVDS Transmitters - The New CH7017 is a VGA to TV encoder with dual LVDS output for the graphics subsystem. Both TV-Out and LVDS-Out can operate simultaneously if the two 12-bit input ports are driven from different timing generators. MPEG to TV Encoders - The CH720X product family is designed to convert CCIR601 standard video data to a PAL/NTSC TV signal. This product line has been very successful in penetrating the VCD player market because of its superior visual quality and low cost. Our phase-locked-loop technology has been integrated into these products in order to supply all of the clock signals in a MPEG system. The New CH7205 is a video TV encoder device for DVD application which accepts a digital video input signal, encodes and transmits data through a four 10-bit high speed DAC. The device is able to generate synchronization signals for NTSC and PAL TV standards with CVBS, S-Video outputs, and YPrPb interface 480i, 576i, 480p and 576p consumer video outputs.
