- Chrontel, Inc., the world's leading supplier of PC-TV encoder chips, announces new additions to CH7xxx PC to TV Encoder Family. The Ch7009 is a display controller device that accepts a digital graphics input signal, and encodes and transmits data through a DVI (T.M.D.S.) or TV Output. The CH7009 accepts data over one 12 bit wide data port. The T.M.D.S. link conforms to DVI 1.0 specification and is capable is of driving a DVI display at a pixel rate of up to 165 MHz (a DFP connection can also be supported). DVI content protection will be included in July 2000. The TV-OUT processor will perform non-interlace to interlacce coversion with scaling, and encode data to NTSC or PAL video standards. Composite video, S-Video and RGB outputs formats are supported. The CH7009 supports Macrovision copy protection, Hot Plug Dectection, Improved Flicker Fiter, TV scaling support increased to 1024x768, and is packaged in a 64 pin LQFP. The CH7301 is a DVI Transmitter only device, and the CH7011 is and encoder only device both utilizing the technology from the CH7009. All three devices share the 64 pin LQFP package, and give the designer the flexibility of one design with three different options: TV / DVI Transmitter combo., DVI Transmitter only, or TV only.
