Chrontel Video Chips Support Intel's New Centrino™ Mobile Technology Full Line of Chrontel Video Options Available for Centrino-based PC Designs
Intel's Centrino mobile technology includes a new mobile processor micro-architecture and wireless capability that is specifically designed for notebook PCs. Centrino mobile technology extends battery life, enables thinner and lighter form factors, and offers outstanding mobile performance. To support PC designers using Centrino mobile technology, Chrontel has developed new software drivers for the company's extensive video IC product line. PC designers will now be able to select the most appropriate Chrontel video chip for their new Centrino-based notebook products. Chrontel has customized the software support for the company's most popular video devices: the CH7007/8, CH7009/10, CH7011, CH7017, and CH7019. All of these popular video interface products will now be 100% Centrino-compatible. "Intel's Centrino mobile technology significantly advances the portability and wireless access of notebook computers," said Dr. David Soo, Chrontel president and CEO. "By updating the software support throughout our product line, Chrontel is making it possible for leading PC manufacturers to quickly design a wide variety of video output options into their new Centrino-based PC products." Chrontel is a leading producer of video interface chips that drive digital video monitors, flat-panel displays in notebook computers, and video outputs to stand-alone televisions. The company's ICs can be found in desktops and notebooks manufactured and sold by the world's top ODMs (original design manufacturers) and PC brands. By updating its product line to support the new Centrino mobile technology, Chrontel expects to increase its already significant market share in notebook PCs, the fastest growing segment of the PC market.
