Chrontel Launches new series of DisplayPort to 6-channel LVDS bridge ASIC

09-09,2026 | Chrontel

Shanghai, China (June 18, 2026) — Chrontel(www.chrontel.com), a leading provider of video interface technologies, today announced the launch of CH7516, the new DispalyPort to 6-channel LVDS bridge ASIC series supports stable transmission of display data at a refresh rate of 60Hz for 4800x2160 or 7680x1080. Chrontel's CH7521 series ASICs are used in mainstream professional display systems or Automotive displays, converting and outputting DisplayPort input signals to single or multiple LVDS display screens or general-purpose LVDS acquisition and reception systems such as FPGA.

The CH7521 series ASICs include CH7521A and the corresponding industrial and automotive part numbers. The CH7521 series innovatively integrates an image segmentation or split processing module, which can achieve four equal parts split processing of video images in the horizontal direction, and has edge pixel overlap allocation function of up to 15 pixels, allowing application systems to divide input video images into four equal parts and distribute them to different LVDS display screens for display. This function is more common in cylindrical four sided/multi sided display systems or in automotive multi-screen displays. CH7521 integrates MCU watchdog, CRC verification, ECC verification, DP signal error detection, and over temperature detection alarm mechanisms to ensure stable and reliable chip operation and stable the high-speed video image signal transmission.

The CH7521 series adopts a new semiconductor production and processing technology, which comprehensively improves the transmission rate and reception capability of DisplayPort signals while reducing the power consumption required for signal conversion. The DispalyPort receiver of the CH7521 series chip complies with the DisplayPort (DP) version 1.4 specification and the Embedded Display Port (eDP) version 1.4 specification, and its four main links support a link transmission rate of 5.4Gbps/HBR2. Its 6-channel LVDS transmitter has 5 pairs of data differential pairs per channel to support 10 bit high color depth display data transmission; The single channel pixel clock can support up to 170MHz, which allows the CH7521A to support stable transmission of 7680x1080 display data at a 60Hz refresh rate, or 2560x1440 display data at a 144Hz high refresh rate. In the current mainstream GPU/SOC platform display output driver design, when the refresh rate of display data supported by the transmission path reaches or exceeds 120Hz, the dynamic variable refresh rate function of display data can be enabled to achieve the goal of green energy saving. The CH7521 series chip integrates a high-precision clock oscillation generation module internally, which can save peripheral circuit components such as crystal oscillators. The CH7521 DP input terminal has a mature de spread frequency control/De SSC module, and the LVDS transmission terminal has a spread frequency control/SSC module and programmable driving current/common mode voltage functions, which can effectively regulate and reduce electromagnetic radiation interference/EMI in high-frequency display data transmission. Various firmware generation tools and comprehensive online update tools enable application engineers to calmly face changes in requirements and quickly adjust system equipment. At present, CH7521 has passed the AEC-Q100 vehicle specification level 2 test.

“On current stage, LVDS interface is the mainstream display input/output interface of FPGA, and LVDS display still has sufficient competitiveness in the automotive field. In professional display applications such as image stitching, LED displays, and multi-screen displays, 4K resolution and high color depth have gradually become mainstream and continue to upgrade to 8K resolution. ”Dr. David Soo, Chairman and CEO of Chrontel, said, "At the same time, the mainstream GPU/SOC on the video source side no longer supports LVDS interface, but instead integrates a higher bandwidth DisplayPort display interface. The launch of the CH7521 series chips has enabled the system motherboard to support high-resolution LVDS signal transmission and multi-screen display.”

At present, some customers have completed the functional and reliability verification of CH7521 and entered the mass production stage.
